Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church

Triumph's Core Values

1.  We believe our ministry as a congregation must be Bible based.  We understand that the Bible is the Word of God and is therefore the authoritative source of our beliefs and life together as a congregation.

2.  We believe in a strongly Christ Centered approach to teaching the Christian faith and caring for souls.  While valuing the whole range of truth in the Bible, we understand that it is the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ that is the Good News that centers our teaching and living.

3.  We believe that meaningful Praise and Worship are essential to the ongoing life of our congregation.  We appreciate music as a powerful gift that God uses to help us receive His Word and respond with our hearts and voices.

4.  We believe in the importance and power of Prayer.  We are convinced that prayer, in its many forms, is essential to the spiritual health and outreach of our congregation.

5.  We believe that Fellowship is vital to our spiritual well-being and witness.  We see the importance of growing relationships, both within and across the generations represented in our congregation.

6.  We believe that Lay Ministry is God's primary means of accomplishing His mission for our congregation.  We celebrate how God gifts each Christian  and view our paid staff primarily as equippers that serve the congregation in doing  its ministry.

7.  We believe that Caring for one another in practical ways is God's will.  We understand that this includes caring for one another spiritually, emotionally, and in meeting other basic life needs.

8.  We believe in intentional ministry to Children and Youth.  We value all generations, yet see the crucial responsibility to nurture the souls of the young, while their faith is in its formative stages.

9.  We believe in Outreach.  We are committed to the calling to witness to those outside of our walls and are trusting that God would have us be part of bringing the good news to the nations.

10. We believe that a Grace Orientation must characterize our life together.  We understand that God's Word comes to us in Law and Gospel, and that because God chose grace as His response to us, we're called to choose grace in our responses to each other.

11. We believe that Creativity and Innovation reflect the dynamics of living Christianity.  We appreciate the value of pilot projects and would rather try and fail than fail to try.

12. We believe Joy is a life-giving gift of the Holy Spirit. We appreciate moments of celebration in worship, laughter as a normal part of our meetings, and a sense of optimism as we face our future.
